Head of Business Development - Ireland & UK

Location: Dublin (with regular travel to the UK)

We are looking to hire an experienced, highly driven, and ambitious Head of Business Development who will drive new business and increase revenue across our service offerings. Key to this role will be the setting of a high-level strategic sales plan and the subsequent execution of same. The core focus of the role will be to secure mandates for our Ireland and UK operations and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Managing, co-ordinating and preparing proposals for new business.

  • Responsible for co-ordinating and preparing of commercial bids for new business within existing accounts, including co-ordinating cross functional teams in support of this process.

  • Maintaining market awareness and understanding end-user needs.

  • Participating in industry forums (conferences and exhibitions) and working with the rest of the team to compile the marketing collateral required.

  • Submitting monthly reports of activities to senior management, as well as maintaining customer contact archive on a real time basis.

  • Providing updated action plan to senior management on a monthly basis.

  • Leading the development and execution of the company’s strategic sales plan.

  • Engaging closely with the company’s marketing team in setting a marketing strategy for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Must have a minimum of a degree in a relevant discipline (Business/Finance/ Law) and at least 6 to 10 years customer relationship/commercial experience

  • A minimum of 5 years senior management level experience

  • Accountancy qualification, US GAAP and IFRS experience would be an advantage

  • Background in structured finance/tax projects would be an advantage

  • Expertise in structured products, securitisations and repackagings is preferred but candidates with a strong background in general banking will also be considered

  • Good understanding of a professional services environment
